DR. GOOD INVESTIGATES: WHAT IS REALITY?

Our first exhibition (UN) REAL is almost coming to an end. But not before we have celebrated this with an online Closing Weekend! Join artist Robert Good at his performative talk and find out what reality is actually is.

This thought-provoking presentation investigates ‘reality’ from both artistic and scientific perspectives. In a performative talk Robert Good picks up his 'Clipboard of Truth to continue his investigations from a logical, philosophical, and scientific point of view: What does reality mean? Can we, like Descartes, strip away everything to reveal an irreducible truth about how the world is? Or are we now living in a hyperrealist simulacrum of reality?

  • When? Saturday 28 November, 4:15 pm - 4:45 pm CET.

  • Première on YouTube.

  • This performative talk will be in English.

Robert Good wrestles with words to consider the frailties of language and the problems of knowledge. He uses art to try and make sense of the world around us. Previous work includes A New Dictionary of Art, which comprises over 3000 definitions of art compiled from the Internet to give a new approach to the question of ‘What is Art?’. It is currently stocked at Tate Modern London, Kettle’s Yard Cambridge, and galleries across the United Kingdom.
